The Beginnings
During 1973-74, (the year that Museum was first planned), the Pasadena Historical Society and the Pasadena City Council worked jointly to initiate plans for a city museum to be known as The Pasadena Historical Museum (now called Heritage Park & Museum), which would be located in Memorial Park on Highway 225 (now located at 204 Main Street). In 1975, (year the museum was opened), these joint plans became a reality and the cultural resources in Pasadena were enriched.
Since 1975, (opening date), members of the Pasadena Historical Society along with the City of Pasadena have developed this museum into one of great importance to the Pasadena Community.
Hopefully, schools, industries, citizens, and public leaders will realize the impact their initial support offered. Due to this support, visitors from far and wide have enjoyed the opportunity to visit or museum in Pasadena.
As our public support grows, so will our accomplishments. Future
plans include an arbor, a park bench, a brick memorial remembrance
garden, and a replica of a circa-1900 outhouse.
